My name is Ruth Wales, and I am the creator of the floral art work seen here. I discovered the technique of scanning flowers, seeds, and berries on my flatbed scanner and have turned these digital images into gorgeous note cards. The process is painstaking as the flowers have to be artfully arranged and positioned so they do not get crushed and lose their natural beauty. I then bring the image into PhotoShop for the final edit and design layout.
As well as doing floral design, I also do many custom orders involving flowers, such as custom paperweights. Be it just a single paperweight with flowers from your own garden, or hundreds ofcustom paperweights for company gift giving. I am currently working on an order of paperweights made with the actual roses from the garland of roses worn by Animal Kingdom after winning the 137th Kentucky Derby.

My designs are created by scanning the actual flower, seed, or berries at a high resolution on my computer. The result are very dimensional images that "pop". All backgrounds are solid black, which adds to the drama. I have Lilac prints, Lupine Prints, Forget-Me-Not prints, Cosmo prints, Queen Anne's Lace prints, Lily of the Valley prints, Daisy prints, Wild Violet prints, Helioposis prints, Iris prints, Milkweed Seed prints, and Winterberry prints. These designs are available in note cards, as well as Rose Rugosa and Sunflowers. |
